The song is on false ego and self-conscious degradation through reincarnation.
Word's play "renegate" and "degenerate", also "regenerate", refers to continuos
allienation and outcast lifestyle. One must find his true self within the universe
and not fall into animal existence or the oblivion. Question is are heroes real?
Fighting not for power, riches or women, but for glory that can't last forever.
Dishonored in life, exalted after. Are they truly the liberators or the betrayers?
